The Year In Retrospect

The 57th edition of Rolex Presents The World of Professional Golf chronicles an unprecedented year in golf which featured an inspiring group of champions, some new, some resurgent. Among the latter was Lydia Ko, whose sparkling consistency returned the Kiwi to the top of the Rolex Rankings for the first time in five years. Rory McIlroy led both the FedEx Cup and DP World Tour lists, while Justin Thomas, In Gee Chun and Brooke Henderson became major winners once again. Among the newcomers, Scottie Scheffler’s brilliant form brought a Masters green jacket, Cameron Smith won the historic 151st Open at St Andrews, as well as the Players Championship, Matt Fitzpatrick hit the shot of the year to win the US Open, while Minjee Lee dominated at the US Women’s Open and there were also triumphs for Jennifer Kupcho and Ashleigh Buhai.
